XRP Ledger Adds Game-Changing Feature as Major Release Nears
XRP Ledger Enhances with Batch Transactions and Other Innovative Features
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) community is buzzing with excitement as RippleX, a senior software engineer, recently announced the integration of the Batch amendment pull request into the XRPL codebase. This marks a significant milestone, bringing the highly anticipated Batch Transactions feature to the upcoming Rippled release.
Vet, an XRPL dUNL validator, shared the community's enthusiasm, emphasizing the versatility of XLS-56 Batch Transactions. This feature enables users to batch transactions using the XLS-56d specification, supporting all transaction types with a limit of eight. It also facilitates atomic swaps, unlocking new possibilities—from XRPL project monetization to peer-to-peer NFT trading.
RippleX has also teased several other upcoming features, including:
- Account Permission Delegation (currently in devnet testing)
- Multipurpose Tokens (MPTs)
- Credentials
- Permissioned Domains
- Dynamic NFTs (released for voting, pending mainnet deployment)
- Smart Escrows (undergoing WASM devnet testing)
The upcoming 2.5.0 release, expected in June, promises major efficiency improvements for node operators, including reduced memory and bandwidth usage. A custom intrusive pointer—capable of handling strong and weak pointers—has been merged into the codebase, delivering 10-15% memory savings for mainnet validators.
Additionally, the release will introduce two fail-safes to prevent indefinite consensus rounds in the "establish" phase, along with the long-awaited Squelching feature.
In other news, Schuman Financial's EURØP has become the first MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin on the XRP Ledger, while Braza Group prepares to launch its USD-backed stablecoin, USDB, on the XRPL.
With these advancements, the XRP Ledger continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation, meeting the evolving demands of the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
