Artificial intelligence is of great interest to us here at Metaverse News. True, we think the evolution of web3, AI, and crypto all work together and will contribute to the birth of the new metaverse, but that’s a tale for another day. This is the first post in a short series that will examine the benefits and drawbacks of using artificial intelligence in the realms of blogging and literature.

Issues with AI
I tasked it with coming up with a narrative for me centred around this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. This tale sucked a whole lot. It stated demonstrably false facts, such as Norway’s record of having the most last-place finishes of any nation. I don’t know why the AI brought Norway down so badly, but it did. Stay away from such icy people.

After spending so much time researching, I may as well have started from fresh with the tale. Later, I learned that the AI gathers its “facts” by reading every available webpage on the internet and then analyzing the information it finds there. Therefore, if it can’t be verified on the internet, it probably doesn’t belong in your tale.

In the end, I didn’t think it was worth the time savings, so I stopped paying for it. But the intriguing prospect of AI down the road is real. A year from now, I plan to reconsider this option. What happens, even better, when facts become irrelevant? As in the case of composing a book. Here is where our species has the freedom to experiment with AI writing.
