Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson stated that raising untested corruption claims against the SEC might hinder Ripple’s chances of winning. Hoskinson told John Deaton’s lawyer that corruption would not impact the court’s determination on XRP’s regulatory status. Hoskinson stressed that this was a different problem. Hoskinson outraged the XRP Army by labeling their charges of misconduct against former SEC official Willian Hinman a “grand conspiracy theory.” Some XRP fans “dug dirt” on Hoskinson, accusing him of cooperating with Ethereum. Cardano’s co-founder claimed he wanted nothing to do with Ripple or the XRP community after “sad” and “shameful” attacks. Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen thanked Hoskinson for his cryptocurrency efforts. The SEC sued Ripple in 2020 for unregistered XRP sales. Hinman’s talk on Ethereum, in which he said ether wasn’t a security, provoked charges of biased policing. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has evaded SEC conspiracy theories, U.Today writes. He questioned the lawsuit’s “suspicious” timing in one interview. Both parties have moved for summary judgment after months of legal battle.
